The Illusion of Freedom#
We live in a misinterpretation of life. There is deception.
What man covers God will uncover, what man uncovers God will cover.
We all agree that we have freewill, but do we know an unadulterated truth?
There is no freewill in spiritual matters, the sinner is not free.
If the natural man has a free will to believe the gospel, then why does he need grace? If his will is naturally free then it would do away with the need for grace altogether. Therefore, to teach that the natural man has a free will overthrows the gospel - it is precisely because man is in bondage to sin that he needs Christ to set him free.
Jesus' perfect summation (truth) of the entire human race:
He answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin (John 8:34)
God alone has free will and alone accomplishes everything He desires. Those who have not been regenerated will never have the least desire to know Him. The good news of Jesus has the sweet smell of eternal life to the elect, and to the putrid stench of death to those that are 'dead' and reprobate.
Evil never brings freedom. But,
... if the Son sets you free you shall be free indeed. (John 8:36)
Not one who calls on the name of the Lord will be disappointed, call on Him.
