THE SWEET GIFTS of JESUS' VICTORY

The Cross is a block the Jew trips upon.

They could not discern the Son of God, yet they looked for miracles.

The Cross perilously annoys the Greeks/Gentiles who seek wisdom.

Their wisdom is destroyed and the intelligent frustrated too by The Cross.

Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (1 Corinthians 1:20)

Easter Day is summed up by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corithians 1:18-31. God chooses the weak. This confounds the proud - for is it not the proud who convince themselves they are wise? It is the 'weak links' of this life who bring a stupour across the 'bright ones'. Thus men have no reason to 'thump their chests with closed fists' and chorus I did it my way'!

Mankind can boast only of our Lord, claiming no debt from God.

Paul packages up God's wisdom seeded in Easter Day (v30), Jesus' gifts left to us:

YES, Jesus has risen from death and true disciples will forever enjoy the sweet gifts of Christ's victory.

"Still splashed across the earth is Jesus' blood and still splashed across the heavens is His heart."
