THE UNSEEN CHRIST ~ A Parable

Dawn had broken. The cool morning trademark yet to lift. Without hurry he sat and prayed, knowing that very soon the pace of his day would change.
Silently a bare foot appeared, motionless at the window. The blind was down. The remainder of the visitor was unseen. This foot stood alone, no second one beside it. Neither good-will or ill-will was indicated by this foot, only an unpeakable mystery.
The foot demonstrated no emotion, nor indicated any pain.
He sat, consumed. Peering at the window he wondered, what will the foot do?
He did not give even a moment's thought of lifting the blind to reveal the foot's owner. This was advantageous, for to see more would only issue in terror. There was no more to see.
......
Countless have approached the Cross, and seen its foot, but ignored He who was above and affixed on it. They have walked to the foot of the Cross, but would never grasp the obedience and suffering nailed above them.
The foot of the Cross is not to be gazed upon - the owner of the Cross is.
"... For He bore the sins of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." (Isaiah 53:12c)
All of Christ is for all of life.
