Who would go to Bethlehem?

The shepherds were men on a mission from God.

Lets go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about... so they hurried off... (Luke 2:15b-16a)

These men were unaccustomed to speed. Yet the pace that sheep normally move at was little impediment to their eagerness. It is equally normal these days for men to make haste to go to Bethlehem.

Bethlehem was where men met with God. It still is today.

Bethlehem is where Jesus is not obvious, but where men dare to find the extraordinary.

Bethlehem is the place where paupers and kings alike come to praise God.

Bethlehem today invites shepherds and rulers alike to hurry and so mimic the ancient story.

Babies are to celebrated. God's Baby invites celebration forever.

The Last Word:

Bethlehem, this insignificant landing pad of God on earth shouts; 'seek the simple, enjoy the elusive, but be sure to honor The Humble.'
