Why erect a fence at the top of the cliff?

The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, You make the way of the righteous smooth. (Isaiah 26:7)

Safety dwells in the hearts of mankind. Fear accompanies it. Fear is a shelter, a hand-brake to dangerous impulses. And peace is the sought outcome.

Scripture takes it readers to vantage points uncommon to mankind.

The Bible teaches how to live well, without threats from enemies and fools. Scripture is infused with correct and protective guidance. It is those who walk in His ways, upon the paths of righteousness for His name's sake that avoid the immoral, the bandits, the villains and the scalliwags. They are not traversing the byways of the wicked or learning their ways.

For many years I have held firm this life principle:

erect a fence at the top of the cliff and then no need to park an ambulance at the bottom.

The Last Word:

The highway of the upright avoids all evil; he who guards his way guards his life. (Proverbs 16:7)
