Gaining God

Soul Snack 191/11 ... Gaining God

I don't expect and I don't like a God who comes in failure, in loneliness, in poverty. Yet God comes to me where I live and loves me where I am. If I am not where I am, God cannot meet me. It's as simple as that. But when I remain where I am with everything that is moving inside me, salvation comes. Isn't that true in your own experience? The Lord is saying, 'I don't want your profound thoughts, the magnanimous acts of love that slide so easily off your tongue, your burnt offerings and holocausts; I want your heart.#

For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings. (Hosea 6:6)

Today's Soul Snippet:
