An awe-inspiring view of life would capture a vertical Jesus staggering tentatively from His tomb and rubbing bleary eyes as death turned to life and dark to light.
The life that lights the world now shone again.
The life that lights the world now still shines.
The meander through the daily repetitions, the relationships that assail or a simple poverty of spirit can all conspire to dim the resurrected light in our lives.
A dim light lacks confidence and encourages a dim faith. Such faith can only see an opaque future.
The sight of the risen Jesus is brightness to the Christian life. Surely three days In a tomb meant His eyes were staggered by daylight. So too the eyes of faith will be staggered by the risen Jesus.
Those who are risen with Jesus now have the staggering bright light of faith. They now have a staggering future.
"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him." (Mark 16:6)
