3 Hints to Live Well while Evil Spills

Life is a battleground. It is not a playground.

Wickedness is spilled with an increasing measure that mankind can no longer discern. He grows in his eagerness to suppress the truth. (See Romans 1:18-20)

So choose carefully that your life may be lived well in the land the Lord your God gives you:

1) Do not sit with those of bad character. The old quip goes, "if you lay down with dogs you will get up with fleas". Decide friends wisely, and as Proverbs reminds - do not rescue an angry man, for you shall have to rescue him again.

Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’ (1 Corinthians 15:33)

2) Do not walk in the counsel of the wicked. Walk not to the voice of the lecher or the liar. Heed no calls from the glory seekers or cast no agreements with the greedy. Participate in no talk of drunkenness, immorality, grumbling, controversies, gossip and planning for evil - such is the fruit from base men and faithless minds.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked... For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous. (Psalm 1:1& 6a)

3) Persistently decide upon righteousness for this is to discern good from evil, light from dark. You will stand apart from wickedness regardless of any personal cost, and upright before the Lord upon that fateful day. Live alone for the audience of One. He who gave you forgiveness also guarantees eternal rest.

Light is shed upon the righteous & joy upon the upright in heart. (Psalm 27:11)
