When Resentments Rise...

If love is looking into another's eyes and seeing the palaces of their heart, resentment becomes looking into another's eyes and seeing the dungeons of their soul.
Could the greatest way to freeze a relationship be resentment?
Resentment is reserved for people who have been displeasing. It is a filter within relationships, removing goodwill and choking any generous response.
Resentment bubbles up to disconnect relationships. It is the severing of ties either wittingly or unwittingly. It is the ignorer of problem solving, the guarantor of only harmful resolve.
Resentment will froth yet again; until it rules or until it kills. Its first fruit is bitterness.
Resentments rise against another, and murders them in the heart. Yet, resentments do not hold a gun to the other, but point the barrel at he who holds it. It is a bullet to the soul, and a deadly yeast to the spirit.
Resentment is the son of unforgiveness, the father to heartache and mother to loneliness.
When the sun rises and sets with resentments, each subsequent day can only darken. It assassinates my tomorrows.
O Lord, keep me from the emotions that steal my life, the seeds that sow my own destruction. AMEN
To swallow resentment is to drink my own poison.

Gratitude is the enemy of resentment.
