GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS ~ A Parable

Be at rest O my soul for the Lord has been good to you. (Psalm 116:7)

The following original parable coaches with more than a fine hint of understanding life and its perspectives.

There was a person accustomed to find fault. They lived in a saddening mastery of themselves.

Their vision did not see 'service' but 'slavery'.

Finally they cried out to Heaven, I have a too heavy cross to bear.

With great love and a large measure of generosity the good Lord replied:

My servant if you can't bear the weight just place your cross inside this room. Then open that other door and pick out any cross you wish.

This complainant overflowed in a joy filled relief. They uttered a hearty thank you Lord, and rushed obediently towards the closed door indicated. They deposited the heavy cross amidst countless others.

Upon entering the next door they saw too many crosses to count, with much variance in size - some so large that their top was hidden to the naked eye.

As they gazed in wonder they spotted a tiny cross leaning against the wall, I'd like that one Lord!

In the softest and kindest of tones the Lord replied:

My child that is the cross you just placed in this room.)

The Last Word:

Now they understood God's great faithfulness.
