You Feel So Far Away

Remorse can be remarkably helpful. It bends the knees.

Father, I am so sorry, You feel so far away, but I know that it is not You who has moved. My devotion wanders, it is light. Sin still tempts in a fearful, even threatening abundance. It invites and then chastens me. Where is the pull of Your Word if it is not in hardship? Forgive me please I pray. Let me hear from You again, as in days gone by. My weaknesses need Your strength. Amen

It is those who have suffered that decide they are done with sin. And, live for the will of God.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. (1 Peter 4:1-2)
