Between a Manger & a Cloud
Soul Snack 230/14 ... The world mocks the Lord's birth and laughs at the promise of His return. But both these events are as sure as this Christmas season is now present
Jesus has visited earth - Christmas recalls.
Jesus is returning to earth - Christmas promises.
Consider the differences between these two appearances:
Last time - only one star in the sky pointed to Him
Next time - all the stars will fall for Him.
Last time - no room for Him on earth
Next time - He owns earth
Last time - only a few worshipped Him
Next time - every knee will bow down to Him
Last time - He was the loser
Next time - He is Lord
Last time - He was hunted
Next time - He will be the hunter
Last time - He came in humility
Next time - He appears in power and great glory
Last time - He came in peace and joy
Next time - He comes in punishment and judgement
Last time - He defeated evil
Next time - He removes evil
Last time - He arrived in a womb
Next time - He descends on the clouds
Last time - He left earth on His own
Next time - He gathers ALL His friends with Him.
‘Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:30)
Annually Christmas reminds the scoffers and the saints, the naysayers and the devoted that:
between the manger and the cloud remains the point of decision.
