Who has woe? Who knows sorrow?

A temptress, a seducer and a brawler is wine. Wine can exact a wicked price far beyond a human's ability to gauge.

Pressing needs, parental example, poor company choice, and so much more drives men and women alike towards 'the bottle'. A weakened spirit keeps them there.

The Bible's accurate assessment from Proverbs 23:

29 Who has woe? Who has sorrow?
Who has strife? Who has complaints?
Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?
30 Those who linger over wine,
who go to sample bowls of mixed wine.
31 Do not gaze at wine when it is red,
when it sparkles in the cup,
    when it goes down smoothly!
32 In the end it bites like a snake
    and poisons like a viper...

... then they ask within, when will I wake up so I can find another drink?

Sadly, such a person has given evil free reign and a comfortable lodging, without benefit.

The Last Word:

Do not join with those who drink in excess...for drunkards become poor, and drowsiness clothes in rags. (Proverbs 23:20 -21)
