Fear Ends Where Faith Begins ~ B#

Fear is F.E.A.R – False Evidence Appearing Real.

Fear is the negative future that has not happened yet.

Fear is based on the presupposition that you are:

  • not good enough
  • not smart enough
  • not confident enough
  • not fast enough
  • not popular enough, and
  • not brave enough to step forward for the Lord, and with the Lord.

Fear is the devil’s delight – untapped potential – shelving God’s gifts for fear of failure.

Fear in the present steals the good and faithful future from a disciple. Fear and faith are opposites, they are competitors.

REMEMBER: God does not call the equipped, but rather equips the called.

Faith is based on the presumption that God thinks I am good enough – good enough to call His son or daughter – good enough to die for.

Faith draws us into the world of positive opportunity where anything is possible on the strength of the God of the impossible.

Faith strengthens us to be sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Faith shows us there is a positive future to arrive.

As with the apostle Peter - faith steps out of the boat without any visible means of support. (I suspect that Peter had all his fellow disciples bellowing abuse at him as he crossed over the boat's gunwales and onto the swirling sea. Don't necessarily expect the support of family and friends.)#

REMEMBER: The impossible is still available to those who rely on the eternal.

My righteous ones will live by faith. (Hebrews 10:38a)

REMEMBER: The day is soon to come when reason will prove faith correct.

Today's Soul Snippet:

"It is not the prostitutes and tax collectors who find it most difficult to repent; it is the devout who feel they have no need to repent, secure in not having broken the rules of the sabbath". ~ Brennan Manning
