Exile Gems! ~ A ... SCARS in HEAVEN#

CONTEXT: Zechariah began his 'career' 520bc. It is the end of Israel's exile in Babylon (590-520 BC), the opportunity to return/reclaim 'the promised land' is upon them. He speaks visions, guidance, judgement on Israel's enemies and looks delightfully towards the Messiah, Zion's everlasting King.
...........................
Have you ever wondered why Jesus took His wounds back to heaven? John sees Him in Revelation as “a Lamb, looking as though it had been slain”. It is an eternal and blessed reminder that satan cannot accuse us, nor God condemn us, for sins for which Christ died.
Zechariah had a vision of Joshua standing before God’s throne.
…Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and satan standing at his right side to accuse him. The Lord said to satan, “The Lord rebuke you, satan!”
Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put rich garments on you”. (Zechariah 3:1-4)
God has chosen us, not because of our good works. And His response to satan’s accusations of us is to take away our filthy rags. Forgiveness! But not only that – He goes beyond forgiveness, and provides rich garments for us to wear. We receive His bountiful mercy as well as grace.
Jesus’ scars in heaven are, and will forever be, a constant reminder that not only are we forgiven but we are blessed and included as His cherished children.
