It had to be - YOU!

Sung by the luminaries of the entertainment industry for nearly a century is the 1924 Isham Jones penned, and ever-popular song 'It had to be you'.

About 30 AD Jesus wrote very similar lyrics, His love song. Jesus chose red ink upon that brutal hillside just outside of Jerusalem as His parchment, and He could have chosen Isham Jones' song title first.

It had to be - YOU!

Would you return the favor?

Very truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honour the one who serves me. (John 12:24-26)

We are no longer our own we have been bought at a price.

You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies. (1 Corinthians 6:19b-20)

The forsaking of life's smooth rhythms for the Lord's call jettisons all in the unshakeable belief that tomorrow's rewards reveal today's as pale and hollow.

The releasing of himself to God is the root of all Christian experience and blessedness. ~ William Law
