Cliffhanger

Soul Snack 171/12 ... Cliffhanger

In 1993 the action movie Cliffhanger opened with a steeled Sylvester Stallone failing in his grasp of a beautiful damsel (Michelle Joyner). She was dangerously suspended across a frightening ravine simply by his rippling right arm - she plummeted to death. Stallone's grip was deadly insufficient.

God is interested in both your temporal and eternal security so He grasps you with an iron grip and a resolve infinitely past any personal pain His grip may cause Him. No-one who belongs to Him can plummet to death. His fingers are curled around their foreams and His palms are firmly glued upon their skin.

If your grip on His forearm should slide, His hold on yours won't!

God faithfulness to you is always firmer than your faithfulness to Him.

Your salvation does not depend upon your ability to hang on to Him. It is secured in His powerful forearm which is literally the extension of His love for you.

Apprehending His unyielding faithfulness is no cliffhanger - it is salvation serenity.

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you. (Ps 91:7)

Today's Soul Snippet:

God wants you in heaven with Him even more than you want to be there.
