The Disciples of Moses

Soul Snack 134/12 ... The Disciples of Moses

The disciples of Moses live in fine religious health to this very day. They have re-defined Moses (the giver of the law), bastioned their self-made laws and festooned the Christian landscape with a too fresh Pharasaism. The ticket of love has fluttered by their eyes but never alighted upon their hearts.

New laws darkened by the shadow of an old legalism abscond with the gospel of grace and steal love from it. The modern pharisees still load-up Christendom with burdens and guilt. They breathe haughty and faulty judgements over innocent souls. These Pharisees do not murder the body but crucify the spirit. They refuse to liberate and only lock any audience they may gather. The Pharisees are forever hearing but never understanding. These disciples of Moses are accused by Moses for they cannot even keep their own laws

But do not think I will accuse you before the father. Your accuser is Moses on whom your hopes are set. (Jn 5:45)

The blood of Jesus bellowed into the heavens and splashed across the earth 2000 years ago: I have released law and restored love.

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing. (Gal 2:21)

Any religious law of man is as hollow as Jesus' love is full.

Today's Soul Snippet:

Jesus isn't found in hallowed mausoleums of brick and stone, or high houses with tall steeples - He is found in your heart.
