Noah Knows

Soul Snack 75/12 ... Noah Knows

So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out." (Gen 6:13-14)

The energy sapping ancient sun emptied his pores while the jeers and jibes dried his spirit. Yet Noah knew that God had commissioned him, so he would commission the ark.

That beating heat, the duration of the project and the absence of approval were not clear signs to the veracity of God's call. Noah however diligently crafted this vessel for very nearly a century. Each day he added substance and size in the smallest of increments.

Assiduous was his character and faithfulness resided in his soul. He built and he built and then Noah built some more. Rewards were as absent as the rain.

THEN the heavens thundered, the earth opened and the flood came. Vindication had arrived and salvation was his reward.

Noah knew this axiom of Divine guidance: When heeding the Lord's call keep building until the floods come.
