Is there is always another goal to kick, another target to strike or another tear to shed?
Where is there peace upon this path called 'life' to pull you through?
Is there is always another load to lift, another skill to gain and another burden to bear?
Where is there peace upon this path called 'life' to pull you through?
Is there always a new road to travel, a fresh way to find or another relief so yearned?
Where is there peace upon this path called 'life' to pull you through?
Of this I know and of this I am most sure - Jesus is present at your door...
an open door is a ready heart to resist striving and begin stopping.
Peace is not found upon a path of movement but it is secured upon the pavement of kneeling.
Two thousand years ago an outrageous living lady wept at Jesus' feet, anointed them with perfume and towel dried His feet with her long hair - in this portion of scripture below Jesus spoke to her with His love-drenched response; it is for all those who too live in the absence of peace:
...your faith has saved you; go in peace. (Lk 7:50)
To stop at the feet of Jesus and even to caress them with tears is not only an expression of faith, but it is also the place of peace deposits.
