Damocles lived under a suspended sword, so too this earth. Its knowledge is no more useful than a horse hair is strong, its pride no more honorable than a grain of sand has value.
So the Lord pleads:
I am about to shake the earth. Rocks will burst, caves will collapse and men will flee to nowhere, for there is nowhere beyond my reach.
Listen to the sage, seek the wise and do not pursue the wisdom of greed or the gall of the masses. Knowledge is no more found in the will of many than it is found within the mausoleums of learning.
I give knowledge to my prophets, to those on their knees with their heads hung low gazing at my feet. I don't give knowledge to the proud who defiantly look me in the eyes, only destruction.
Earth, O all earth, listen to Me - humble yourselves that your days may be short and your salvation long. Bend your knee before I shake the earth, before corruption is crushed and before I act. Bend you knee at the Cross of Calvary, the martyr, the Son of God - MY SON.
He who has an ear let him hear.
The Lord Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled), (Is 2:12)
