Jesus knew murder. God the Father knew murder. His only Son was murdered.
The world reels from yet another massacre of innocents around the birth of Jesus. (See Matt 2:13-18)
In many murderous verbal assaults the Pharisees regularly attacked Jesus' ears before finally claiming His body.
In this poignant verbal stoush Jesus rebuffed Pharisaic protests when He explained:
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (Jn 8:44)
Jesus' pungent truth explains satan's handiwork ... where there is murder it is fathered by satan.
Yes - gun control is needed!
Yes - people do get out of control and do the uncontrollable!
Yes - evil again has been briefly victorious!
BUT - surely to seek God and fold open the map marked righteousness will achieve far more than simple legislation.
There is only one spirit that defeats evil spirits - the Holy Spirit.
YEP - bring on the gun control but first pray for God Control.
Everybody wants to pray after a massacre and seek God - if He was sought first there would be no massacre.
Prayer is erecting a fence at the top of a cliff and not parking an ambulance at the bottom.
