One Spiritual Success Secret!

Soul Snack 210/14 ... Mankind is skilled at seeking spiritual success in all the wrong places.

Christians have learned spiritual success is first doing and not being. This is incorrect, for Jesus invites attention well before activity.

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. (Luke 10:38-42)

Moses dwelt in Midian, Elijah in Gilead and John the Baptist lived in the wilderness. The Apostle Paul disappeared for fourteen silent years; each lodged with the Lord well before soldiering for the Lord. All men met with a spiritual success no modern Christian can reckon.

It is in God's presence the character is forged, approval is received, sin is excised and each divine assignment is learned.

He who would do much for God must first dwell much with God.
