Simply Righteousness
God calls His own in righteousness, all of us! The intent of the Lord calling out names is to bless and not burden, to help and not harm.
Righteousness can no more issue wickedness than dark can issue light.
Hold fast when darkness hangs low because you know He has called you in righteousness. Darkness does not dispel God's call or His pure intents.
Draw these two truths near to your breast, bind them around your forehead and tattoo them on your forearms:
- righteousness precedes the Lord, it prepares the way for His steps. (Psalm 85:13)
- the fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. (Isaiah 32:11)
There is a Divine axiom that accompanies God's intervention in the life of His own:
The righteous will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming the Lord is upright, He is my rock, and there is no wickedness in Him. (Psalm 92:14-15)
To live the rule of righteousness is to be lost to the favors of this earth. Righteous men pursue righteous acts because they have first sat quietly with the Lord. Christ has been formed well in them.
