Soul Snack 8/184 ... Step Stopping

Does your heart cry 'doom', while your head cries 'deliverance'?

Do times arise when you feel you need a doctorate in urgency?

Are there those days when you simply gasp for moments of relief?

Are your eyes on the vigorous and constant scan when you thirst for refuge or better still, release?

In the wars that rage against us, when the enemy is relentless, God's advice to His own is to trust Him and 'move on'.(Ex 14:15)

For God's desire is to fight for His people. Thundering Egyptian war chariots, menacing Philistine giants or ferocious desert dwelling lions are no match to the God of Heaven.

Curiously - the best way to 'move on' is by stopping. I don't need to fight my battles, confront my enemy or live in fear. His invitation for His own is to trust, by being still.

... The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. Ex 14:14

When I am still, I have moved out of God's way and then He can step into my wars and fight for me. Stopping my own steps is permitting His steps for me!

It is my choice always to do the watching or the warring. I prefer to be still and watch.
