Soul Snack 8/59 ... Asset Management

Sober eyes scanned the content of his tattered wallet. The need was clear, the cash available and the heart willing.

This wallet had a habit of finding blessing as much as giving it.

Give generously to him (the needy brother) and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. Deut 15:10

God gives a return to those who willingly give to Him.

As is so often the case in God's kingdom, the way of the world is reversed.

Surprisingly when I give I also create deposits for myself. Giving is an investment deposited in an eternal bank, that is managed by a benevolent bank manager.

God pays interest that is out of this world, He dispenses dividends with carefree abandon, He charges no banking fees and withholds no taxes.

How He sees I give guarantees how He will give to me.

Of course the issue with giving can be instantly lost if I haven't even seen the opportunity to give that God has laid before me.

His interest is not in my accumulation but rather my asset management.
