The heart of man is the seductive seat of decision making. A wounded heart becomes the warrior for its own well-being.
Created in the image of a god whose very fabric is love, so too must man's life also be love.
For God's image to live with love lost, love withheld, love resisted or love absent can only ever issue in a deeper thirst for love. This is the wounded heart. It then seeks comfort in a world for what was implanted from out of this world.
To grasp the thirst for love is to take hold of human responses, desires, decisions, ambitions and most of human behaviour. The heart of all matters is the matter of the heart.
God's construction is made from a material called love - so too is yours.
His love is out of this world, so you too are out of this world.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. ( I John 4:16-17)
