Holy Stains

Soul Snack 212/13 ... Holy Stains

Stains are disdained.

Blemishes, marks and imperfections carry witness to wear and tear.

In world driven to perfection, there is little place for the worn or the incomplete.

BUT Jesus bore marks and wore stains.

A piercing, a humiliation or souls tattooed by the affliction of service are all signposts suggesting a self-reckoning, that your rights are less important than His righteousness.

These wounds were meant to purchase me. These drops of blood were shed to obtain me. I am not my own today. I belong to another. I have been bought with a price. And I will live every moment of this day so that the Great Purchaser of my soul will receive the full reward of His suffering.- Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf (1700-1760)

Will you bear a holy stain, would you not flee them in fact permit them to multiply?

You are not your own; you were bought at a price (1 Cor 6:19c-20a)

The Great Purchaser of your soul first lived that righteousness trumps rights.

Today's Soul Snippet:

You can't earn God's love to you anymore than you can earn God's salvation for you.
