Soul Snack 164/13 ... Recovering Birth
We are all born innocent with the terminal ability to sin but not aware of it.
We all spend our infancy, childhood, teenage years and young adulthood learning sin - so losing our innocence.
At some point there is a divine intervention, a Christ light beam penetrates to the bone and marrow.
This new beacon illuminates for us the darkness of our lost innocence, and we fall to our knees. With deepening shame we see the morass within and want it excised.
Quickly we too learn the return of innocence is impossible, so the remainder of life must become the recovery of birth.
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again" (Jn 3:3)
