Twisted Thinking

Soul Snack 161/13 ... Twisted Thinking

It is nearly three decades since my first born played outside during a super-heated Sydney day. He also screamed as he stood in bare feet on searing concrete.

This toddler was merely a 'his-size' step away from safe grass, but he did not understand the different nature of the two surfaces, nor did he know how to escape his pain.

A stretch forwards, a whisk upwards and a big hug swiftly restored his peace.

How many endure life in pain because they too do not understand the nature of differences and remain on the wrong path?

God understands differences; in fact He scours for them.

God particularly knows the distinction between the righteous and the wicked. There are those who serve Him and those who do not. Some can discern evil and some cannot.

...see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not. (Mal 3:18)

The righteous wrestle with sin for they can recogize evil, while the wicked can only manage to call evil good.

The wicked do not wrestle with sin and alas they will always have burnt feet.

In what may appear to be some form of twisted thinking, rejoice in the relentless fight with sin as this authenticates the path you travel.
