Memory Lane

Soul Snack 61/10 ... Memory Lane

Sealed in pure white, this dazzling female figure stretched aimlessly across the table to an absent engagement.

Alone now in both her company and thoughts she mused across her day. She replayed countless images and rehearsed countless conversations.

This dalliance into her most recent past served only as a helpful distraction to her soul.

Catching her attention from the mind's random meanderings would usually be difficult. Jesus knew this so well.

Unexpected as this solitude was, Jesus had been so deliberate in His provisions. He again had wanted to give her His company, but by indulging memories she only ever had her own.

Solitude is the heaven-sent opportunity to hear from God and not just from me.

"Be still and know that I am God ..." (Ps 46:10a)
