Sulfur Stained Grace

Soul Snack 181/14 ... The hurdled has been leapt, pride swallowed and knees bent in a sorrowful repentance. But that now is stapled to a far distant yesterday, a faded memory - the affixing of a small spiritual rudder for a long life.

Christian comfort has arrived. Faith is at great (and deadly) ease.

The repeated invitation from a sulfur stained grace is to treat God lightly; handing him dollops of sin and eons of neglect - for:

He still loves me and my future remains secure. I am without any spiritual potholes to plug or sinful mountains to erode, and even the hills of sin aren't too high - for ALL IS GRACE.

Or maybe the refrain within achoes:

God will rightly endure my trashed living, my tardiness in sin defeat, my spiritual indifference and my ignorance to His Word - for ALL IS GRACE.

Finally an enticing voice speaks:

Grace is a gift of forgiveness that permits me to continue life independent of the giver, it cannot be lost nor will it ever be withdrawn - for ALL IS GRACE.

What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? (Romans 6:1-2)

To excuse sin in my life is also to excuse my Savior from my life.

It is impossible ... if the enlightened fall away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. (Hebrews 6:6 SoulSupply ed.)

Prayer is turning the fanciful into fact.
