Take the World - but give Me Jesus#
As for me, I have grown rather sick of this world and all the pleasures it offers. They are temporary and usually go as quick as they came. The world tries to misdirect me from the ultimate which is heaven. We find ourselves running here and there getting the toys and comfort of this world only to discover that they are unsatisfying to the inner soul. I agree with songwriter Fanny Crosby:
Take the world, but give me Jesus.
He is the only way that truly satisfies both now and eternally.
What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? (Matthew 16:26)
This question needs to be asked by everyone and the answer will reveal a lot about that person.
