The Mind of Christ

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)

In this world it is particularly simple to think 'criticism' and not think 'Christ'.

The mind holds extensive power and ability to control the health and directions in relationships, or create danger and destruction across them.

Four abilities that begin to reflect the mind of Christ:

  • to deliberately wash the feet of your betrayer
  • to find good in another and remaining un-offended
  • to see from the other's perspective without asserting your own (this is also a sign of emotional maturity)
  • to see past a person's responses to their inner-man, why they acted or spoke as they did (this is a depth too few reach).

To exercise these abilities is to live a mind of grace and truth, the mind of Christ.

For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16)

This is the mind Jesus has towards me, and has given me to reciprocate. It is my choice to exercise Christ's mind in me.

Jesus lived and still lives a mind 'to mind me'.

I have the mind of Jesus when by His grace and truth I 'mind' another today too.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2a)

Permit the words of Jesus to marinate in your heart.
