When the unpalatable is served on your plate...

When the unpalatable is served on your plate, don't despise such food. Rather, rejoice in the love of He who called you in righteousness.

It is from such plates that you, a disciple of Jesus, are trained in His righteousness.

You are not as others who carry burdens without hope. You know unfailing hope and hold to unbreakable promises.

There is a hope that can't fail, and promises that can't be broken.

BUT, to set the mind on the flesh is death. This is without hope.

To set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6)

Take captive the carnal, and sow to the Spirit for in this there is life.

Your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. (Romans 8:10)

When the plate before you smells foul and tastes bitter do not be hasty to clear it. Let the stench do its work.

It is he who has suffered in the body that is done with sin. (1 Peter 4:1)

The time is soon to come when the bitter will become sweet, and the foul will become fragrant. This is hope.

You are not of those who turn back and shrink.

Today's Soul Snippet:

'Jesus did not resist sacrifice. Sacrifice is familiar to those who would choose to train in righteousness.'
