When You Can Jump No More

King David penned the Psalms of eternity. He knew when life disappointed and he could jump no more. Four thoughts follow from the days he was crippled, or his nights brighter than light.

  1. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. ~ Psalm 23:6
  2. I am still confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. ~ Psalm 26:3
  3. I wait for your salvation Lord and follow your commands. ~ Psalm 119:106
  4. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people both now and for evermore. ~ Psalm 122:2

An outrageous boldness flowed from the King of Israel's pen.

Confidence in the Lord is fuel for the dark days, muscle to the weak seasons. It is the bubbles of a hard patience within the soul.

Confidence douses the fears wafting around you from an enduring hardship. It quenches the angst of doubt.

A prayer of confidence:

I wait for you Lord. I choose strength and steadfastness; though the ground shakes beneath, my feet remain firm. I wait for you Lord - upon a ground levelled by your truthful Word and the trust it raises in me of You.  Amen
