3 Tips to Survive Life ... 3rd TIP

Always keen, the apostle Paul seeks to fashion the lives of his readers for their permanent betterment. Paul's ambitions are parallel to His Lord's.

Let the word of God dwell in you richly as you teach... and as you sing... with gratitude in your hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16)

Just marinate for a moment on 'richly'.

'Rich' usually connotes a strong financial position; at least money is its normal first association. To common thought, 'rich' and 'abundance' are synonyms.

God's Word, the Bible, does not usually carry an association with 'rich', but here Paul marries these two words deliberately and definitely. In fact this is the only occurrence of these two words together in the New Testament.

Paul writes to the Colossians because false teachers are present. BUT - false teachers can't practise where God's word is known.

When a believer is familiar, indeed very familiar with Scripture he will see quickly who are the wolves.

The Bible shapes its reader's mind that his feet shall follow.

Reader, beware - satan is the obstacle provider, the doubt giver, and the sapper of spiritual energy to draw near the Word. Deny him victory.

This Word of God is your food for life eternal. Press on towards your PRIZE, ever eager to hear well done good and faithful servant.

TIP 3 ... LET THE WORD OF GOD DWELL IN YOU ABUNDANTLY.
