Lot's wife lost!

Lot's wife chanced a glance backwards as the family fled Sodom's destruction. She disobeyed the Lord's instruction, and became a pillar of salt. There is little hope for the disobedient.

There is no substance in Christian's wistfully casting their eyes over their shoulders. In fact to dwell on what is behind is first disruptive and very soon destructive.

Pillars of salt cannot remain vertical, gravity ensures their instant collapse.

Lot's wife and family were angelically led towards salvation, a safe distance from Sodom's Divine demise. Her longings for 'yesterday' cost her, her life.

Do not look back, and have your second chance stolen away.

When the past is held onto the future crumbles.

Do not say yesterday was better, for is it not the eyes of faith that look forward and up?

Yesterday is to be put behind a Christian's back. It is to be let go. When God frees, stay freed.

Despite the loss that will always lie behind, live in the Christian knowledge as we step forward in faith - it is God's intentions to raise His own up and not tear them down. He has plans to prosper and not harm. A Christian's tomorrow belongs to God as much as today.

The Apostle Paul embraced loss wholeheartedly. He knew that his losses would be abundantly replaced by Christ Himself, and His righteousness.

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. (Philippians 3:7-9)
